Working together

Preparing for a focused strategy session

Bring the context, constraints and open questions that help a working session reach a useful conclusion.

A working session does not need a polished presentation to begin. It needs a shared understanding of the question and enough context to discuss it honestly. A short preparation note often does more for the conversation than a large collection of slides.

Share a compact brief

Describe the business, the decision in front of you and the reason it matters now. Include relevant information already available, such as how customers use the offer or where a process becomes difficult. Mark assumptions as assumptions, and name the questions you cannot yet answer.

Make the constraints visible

Clarify timing, capacity and any commitments the team must work around. Invite the people who hold the necessary context or will own the decision. Agree whether the session should explore options, choose a direction or define the next piece of work; each purpose calls for a different conversation.

Close by checking what was decided, what remains open and who will take the next step. A written record can be brief: the choice, the reasoning and the immediate actions. Preparation is useful when it makes that record clearer and easier to act on.
