Turning recommendations into a decision plan

Translate a recommendation into an owned decision, a small next step and a practical review point.

A recommendation is the start of a decision, not the completion of the work. A team still needs to consider the trade-offs, choose a direction and make room to act. Turning advice into a practical plan keeps the reasoning connected to what happens next.

Separate decisions from actions

Write down what needs to be decided before listing tasks. For each choice, identify its owner and the information still required. Keep alternatives visible long enough to compare them, and record why one direction was selected. This gives the team a reference when circumstances change.

Choose a manageable next step

Define the smallest useful action that follows from the decision. It might be a conversation, a service outline or a focused test of an assumption. Set a realistic review point and decide what evidence would justify continuing, adjusting or stopping.

Keep the plan short enough to use in regular work. Clear ownership and an honest account of uncertainty are more helpful than a long task list with no priorities. Review the plan with the people responsible for delivery so the next step fits their actual capacity.
